The Finance team strengthens business performance through financial insight, planning, and cross-functional partnership. This role works with Software, Product, Sales, Customer Success, Accounting, Investor Relations, and executive leaders to support profitable growth and sound investment decisions.
What will the work look like for me?
We are seeking a Financial Analyst to serve as a finance business partner for the software business. This role develops business cases, measures investment performance, supports forecasting and planning, and turns financial data into clear recommendations that improve decision-making and profitable growth.
What would I do?
As a Financial Analyst for Software, you would help connect financial insights to business decisions for our software teams. You would focus on the following:
- Work closely with Software, Product, Sales, Customer Success, Accounting, Investor Relations, and leaders to support growth, profitability, forecasting, and resource decisions.
- Bring ideas to life through business cases and financial models for investments, pricing, strategic initiatives, and growth opportunities.
- Support monthly forecasts, annual plans, and long-range planning for the software business.
- Turn software performance data into meaningful insights, including recurring revenue, profitability, customer economics, and operational KPIs.
- Use SaaS metrics such as ARR, MRR, retention, churn, customer profitability, and Rule of 40 to identify trends and opportunities.
- Create executive reports, dashboards, and business reviews that clearly explain results, key drivers, and outlook.
- Help leaders understand what is changing by comparing actual results to forecasts, plans, and business cases.
- Provide scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling, and return assessments to help guide important business decisions.
- Support earnings, SEC reporting, Board materials, and investor communications by sharing clear insights on software performance.
- Find ways to improve planning, reporting, analytics, data quality, metric governance, and business performance.
- Help simplify and automate reporting, improve Tagetik and related systems, support process improvements, and perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Where is this opportunity located?
Position has opportunity to work from a US Based home office. This position is open to candidates eligible to work in the United States. Exact working hours are flexible, but this position will be based on working during regular business hours in the Central time zone.
What are the pay and perks?
The typical hiring range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experience, location, and applicable local legislation.

Qualifications
To be considered for Financial Analyst - Software, we require the following:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Three-seven (3-7) years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, strategic finance, business finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience within a SaaS or software company environment.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, analytical, and structured problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and financial analysis tools.
- Ability to work with large and complex datasets while maintaining accuracy and business relevance.
- Exceptional ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable business insights.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships and influence decisions across multiple functional areas.
- Strong self-motivation, ownership of deliverables, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- The selected individual must be able to travel by air and ground and comply with the Daktronics Driver Eligibility Policy to begin and maintain employment. This requirement will be verified through a motor vehicle record (MVR) check conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws.
- Fluent in English, written and verbal.
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SaaS metrics, including ARR, MRR, retention, churn, customer profitability, and Rule of 40.
- Experience building driver-based forecasts tied to bookings, renewals, churn, pricing, headcount, product investments, and financial outcomes.
- Tagetik planning and forecasting experience.
- Experience with data visualization, reporting automation, and enterprise planning or analytics platforms.
- Experience supporting earnings releases, investor presentations, SEC reporting, or Board materials.
- Experience developing business cases, investment analyses, executive presentations, and benefit-tracking frameworks.
- Prior management consulting, corporate strategy, transformation, or strategic finance experience.
- MBA, CPA, CFA, CMA, or another relevant professional certification.
