EnergyHub seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and develop backend services and client-facing REST APIs for residential battery programs. Requires 5+ years professional software engineering experience, expertise in Java/Spring, RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL, security best practices, and development practices including automated testing and CI/CD. Preferred experience includes Python, AWS, microservices, event-driven systems, React, protocol buffers/gRPC, containerized systems, and MongoDB. Sponsorship is not available.

Work on the Program Engineering Team to design an authoritative source of truth for program configuration, build and maintain microservices and APIs, lead schema and data flow architecture, and mentor other engineers. Requires 5+ years of experience and strong Java + Spring backend skills; experience with data migration, DDD, multiple data stores, protocol buffers/gRPC, and frontend (TypeScript + React) is preferred.

Design and develop backend services and client-facing REST APIs for residential battery programs; build integrations with industry energy protocols (OpenADR, IEEE 2030.5, OCPP) and internal services; maintain security, testing, CI/CD, and monitoring; collaborate with product, OEMs, and other teams.
