The Role
Veeva Systems is seeking a Strategy Leader responsible for growing the Clinical Data business with the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.
The small and medium-sized business (SMB) Strategy Leader of Clinical Data requires a familiarity with clinical research and/or healthcare data flow. The SMB Clinical Data Strategy Leader must demonstrate the ability to drive adoption discussions based on credibility and knowledge across multiple domains, including pharma/biotech, CRO, and technology partnership. The SMB Clinical Data Strategy Leader must demonstrate the ability to challenge customers to adopt new operating models and change their traditional way of thinking.
Vault Clinical Data comprises Electronic Data Capture (EDC) and Data Quality System (DQS). This role will be responsible for driving Clinical Data market strategy and growth across our emerging and mid-size customers, working with the sales team, ensuring customer success, and developing a tailored market approach for customers with small internal teams. To achieve these goals the Strategy Leader of Clinical Data will need to connect with clinical and data management leaders, clinical operations leaders and IT leadership to create strategic plans that deliver and demonstrate customer success, and work directly with sales to identify and win opportunities to grow the business.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of industry and technology leaders, who, together, are bringing the next generation of clinical development and R&D applications to Life Sciences.
This position can be based anywhere in North America.
What You'll Do
Growing and sustaining the customer base for Clinical Data
Develop and execute the Clinical Data vision for emerging to mid size companies
Manage relationships with key stakeholders within and adjacent to Clinical Data
Use professional networks and relationships to assist with adoption
Develop value-oriented materials oriented to emerging and mid size sponsors
Provide thought leadership and sales support to teams in driving adoption of Clinical Data products
Provide business and technology guidance to the product team in support of new or enhanced features and functionality in Clinical Data applications
Keep current with industry trends and engage customers addressing their business challenges
Other special Clinical Data projects as assigned
Requirements
7+ years in some aspect of clinical research or healthcare data flow
Experience in a product company, CRO, or Sponsor in a customer-facing role, ideally in selling or positioning the product
Experience in creating study pipelines and selling technology in a study-by-study manner deseriable
Industry data management and/or consulting experience
Experience in sales, account management, or business development desirable
Strong communication, creative thinking, and presentation skills
Proven ability to innovate across business processes and technology solutions
Ability to hold meaningful conversations with business and IT executives regarding Clinical Data introduction, adoption, and scaling
Understanding of clinical data industry trends
Understanding of global product development, clinical trial process, regulations
Ability to travel for customer meetings and presentations
Strong project management ability to prioritize and delegate work to focus on the highest impact areas

Compensation
Base pay: $125,000 - $300,000
The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
