Our Client

Our client is the largest unified B2B cannabis platform, providing licensed cannabis businesses a suite of tools to manage their business more effectively, sell or order from their favorite brands and accelerate growth. It's one platform, one solution, and it's defining the way thousands of cannabis brands, distributors, and retailers streamline their operations.

Job Summary

Our client is expanding its engineering organization to support two major initiatives:

Platform Overhaul: Redesigning and scaling core user-facing surfaces and API services to build a rich, complex frontend experience backed by Python microservices.

Financial Services Platform: Scaling backend transaction processing, payment workflows, and integrations powered by Java backend services and modern reactive frontend architectures (Angular/Vue).

Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Feature Ownership: Design, build, and maintain end-to-end features—from the UI down through APIs, backend services, and relational data models.

• Frontend Development: Create responsive, scalable, and high-performance UI components using Vue 3 / Angular, TypeScript, and modern state management patterns.

• Backend Architecture: Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs in Python (for core platform) or Java/JVM (for financial services/payments).

• AI-Assisted Engineering: Actively use AI development tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate prototyping, code review, debugging, testing, and documentation while maintaining strict code quality, security, and data privacy standards.

• System Modernization & Performance: Improve system reliability, observability, accessibility (WCAG), and bundle/database performance. Refactor legacy systems as platform requirements evolve.

• Quality & Testing: Write comprehensive unit, integration, and E2E tests across the stack (e.g., Vitest, Vue Test Utils, Playwright, pytest, JUnit/Mockito).

Qualifications and Job Requirements

• 5+ years of professional full-stack or backend/frontend engineering experience shipping production web applications.

• Backend Proficiency: Strong professional experience in either Python or Java (JVM frameworks) building REST/GraphQL/event-driven APIs and backend services.

• Frontend Proficiency: Solid hands-on experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and modern reactive frameworks (Vue 3 / Composition API preferred, or Angular / React).

• Database Experience: Practical experience working with relational databases (SQL, data modeling, query optimization).

• AI Tooling Workflow: Demonstrated professional experience using AI coding assistants (Claude, Copilot, Cursor) in day-to-day development, with strong engineering judgment regarding code correctness and security.

• Testing Discipline: Experience writing robust automated tests across frontend and backend layers.

• Autonomy: Strong problem-solving ability, self-direction, and communication skills to lead technical initiatives with minimal oversight in an agile environment.

• Infrastructure & DevOps: Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
