Join the team as our next Software Engineer, Twilio Flex.

About the job

This position is needed to help Twilo develop and deliver new capabilities in the Twilio Flex platform. You will be a member of a scrum team who will design, implement, own and operate their microservices end to end in the cloud. You will play a key role in setting up and building out the Flex engineering capacity and capability in the Bengaluru office and build a center of excellence for Flex business unit. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to influence roadmap priorities, propose innovative solutions that will enable Twilio to achieve its goal of being the world’s most trusted customer engagement platform.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Flex platform services on AWS, following microservices architecture principles
  • Build and maintain highly scalable, distributed systems with a strong focus on reliability and performance
  • Write automated unit and integration tests; contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling
  • Refactor and reduce technical debt; uphold engineering standards across code reviews and design discussions
  • Collaborate with product and engineering peers to influence roadmap priorities and propose architectural solutions
  • Participate in design discussions, code reviews, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies, ensuring sprint commitments are met.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues independently or with your team in your domain.
  • Document systems and contribute to runbooks, design docs, and operational playbooks.
  • Rapidly acquire new skills in a fast-paced environment with evolving infrastructure and business requirements

*Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related industry experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience developing highly-available, secure, native cloud enterprise SaaS applications in Java.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP or other public cloud infrastructure platforms.
  • Experience building highly scalable, real time, distributed systems based on microservices architecture.
  • Experience with container technologies - Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Experience with REST API design and implementation.
  • Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and caches.
  • Experience implementing modern automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Translate system designs into software implementations.
  • Champion of good engineering habits: development and test techniques, security, automation.
  • Expertise in solving complex production issues.
  • Positive attitude and aptitude to learn and execute quickly in a small team.
  • Iterative development and deployment, Scrum and Agile methodologies.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.

Desired:

  • Experience with streaming systems such as Kafka, Flink, Spark
  • Deploying cloud applications in a multi region environment.
  • Ability to influence and build effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with Contact Center and Customer Engagement solutions.

Location

This role will be remote, and based in India <Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana State, Maharashtra and New Delhi>.

Travel
