To realize our goal of becoming the go-to solution for WhatsApp, we’re looking to improve on a few key areas related to product, onboarding, activation and WhatsApp-specific features.

We’re looking for someone who understands WhatsApp and uses it daily to message friends & businesses, with a keen eye for UI/UX and design, as well as strategies to understand what our customers look for and craft better onboarding flows so they can more easily get the results they’re looking for.

This is a position that will work closely with our GTM team quickly shipping and iterating, so you won’t find much red tape, just the tools and support you need to build a product you’d be proud of.

What your day could consist of:

    • Make our onboarding story better: WhatsApp for business works differently as the personal WhatsApp people use, so it’s important that people understand in-product how to best use our platform.
    • Iterate on our activation and retention flows: we want to help our users effectively discover more features and complex workflows they can create.
    • Implement WhatsApp-specific features that our customers can use: Meta is releasing 3-4 big features a year which bring big improvements to what can be achieved with WhatsApp and it’s our goal to lead the market on WA feature support.
    • For the above you’ll mostly be working on a Django-based backend with React+Tailwind frontend. We use tools like Posthog to make sense of how our users use the platform.
    • Mentoring the rest of the team in designing and developing user-first web platforms. We have a team with a strong dev background, but we want to learn more on rest of the skills needed to build a world-class product (an eye for design and UI/UX).
    • You’ll be working very closely with the product & sales team to understand what users all over the world want to achieve, implementing changes to the product to bring those goals closer and iterating fast on them. These sources will be sales demos, user interviews, recordings, support tickets, etc. 

Technical environment:

    • Object-oriented languages, mainly: Python (Django).
    • Front-end languages including: Typescript, React, Tailwind.
    • Data stores including: PostgreSQL, Redis.
    • Develop SaaS systems using REST APIs, micro-services on Kubernetes and integrations with 3rd party software.
    • Frameworks including: Django, GraphQL, React.
    • Tooling including: Gitlab, Vault, Grafana, Sentry, Datadog, K8s, etc.
    • Other services including: AWS, Posthog, etc

What is needed:

    • We do not require a CS degree, X years of experience or an amazing CV. We think those don’t really capture the spirit of building amazing things at a startup, so if you’re interested, ambitious and experienced in startups, we can start from there.
    • Our dream teammate has 5+ years in full-stack/frontend positions where you’ve shown good design and UI/UX knowledge.
    • Experience with the tools mentioned above: our expectation is that you’ll will be able to get up to speed fairly quickly and you’ll have the whole team as mentors and as resources while you learn.
    • We care about quality: we test thoroughly and respond quickly to reported defects and take care of our customers' experience with our product.
    • Startup mindset: we do not measure deliverables in months or quarters, we like to take on a project and ship an MVP soon and iterate on it rather than wait until it’s perfect. There’s no bigger achievement than having customers rely on the products we ship.

$52,500 - $66,000 a month
