JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager of Executive Content and Experience plays a key role in bringing Vertex’s brand story to life across external and internal audiences.

This position is equal parts creative storyteller, critical thinker and influential leader. This role works closely with senior leaders across every facet of our global business to define communications strategies that strengthen the Vertex experience.

The Senior Manager of Corporate Communications is responsible to translate complex ideas into compelling, audience-centric messages to be shared a variety of channels, to bring forth innovative ideas that elevate our communication efforts to new heights, and to oversee the development and execution of our global communications strategy and high-profile communication programs and initiatives.

This role requires a solid understanding of global B2B content marketing and integrated, multi-channel programs, strong collaboration and the ability to deliver results through cross-functional alignment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Develop and implement a global corporate communications strategy to enhance engagement, advance business goals and strengthens Vertex’s brand and culture from the inside out

•Structure and lead high priority, highly visible cross-functional programs and initiatives

•Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships and respect with senior leaders and stakeholders across the business

•Develop a deep understanding of our business and employees to produce high quality communications that differentiates our brand from competitors

•Proactively identify and mitigate risks to ensure project success

•Evangelize and educate relevant teams on audience-centric communications

•Ready the organization with a well-articulated issues management strategy designed in partnership with Legal, People + Culture and executive teams

•Infuse change management best practices into all corporate communications initiatives

•Drive executive communications strategy

•Establishes and communicates clear metrics and KPIs for functional area success working closely with key stakeholders and the data/analytics team

•Lead corporate communications programs in a way that drives team productivity, growth and development

•Use storytelling to attract and engage target audiences with unique and compelling narratives

•Develop and implement a global communications calendar

•Draft communications and scripts on behalf of c-suite and executives

•Align corporate messaging, employee experience and employer branding with the company’s mission, core behaviors and product positioning

•Drive innovation and scale through communication channels and platforms

•Develop mechanisms to track, analyze and report on individual campaign results and consult on big picture business trends

•Evaluate the effectiveness of corporate communications using metrics and feedback to continuously improve and adapt the communication strategy and tactics

•Serve as a strategic partner to business and functional leaders, providing counsel that reflects a strong understanding of the business to improve clarity and impact of messages

•Partner closely with the Corporate Marketing to ensure alignment with Vertex’s voice and branding

•Support thought leadership and speaking opportunities to position the company as a prominent voice in the industry

•Partner with Talent Acquisition team to build out our employment branding strategy to position Vertex as a best-in-class employer

•Deep proficiency and senior-level expertise in B2B communications with proven ability to craft compelling narratives, refine complex content, and execute successful project launches

•Demonstrate strong team leadership skills driven by clear expectations, defined metrics and accountability, and rewards / recognition

•Excellent interpersonal skills for establishing solid relationships at all levels to support or initiate innovative practices with cross-functional teams in a global environment

•Lead with influence with an ability to swiftly resolve conflict

•Clear understanding of the relationship between internal and external communications, as well as traditional and evolving channels

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

•10+ years of communications experience

•Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field

•Related market/industry experience is desirable

Pay Transparency Statement:

US Base Salary Range: $131,600.00 - $171,100.00

Base pay offered to new hires may vary based upon factors including relevant industry and job-related skills and experience, geographic location, and business needs.* The range displayed does not encompass the full potential of the role, which allows for further growth and career progression.

In addition, as a part of our total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Vertex Bonus Plan (VOB), a role-specific sales commission/bonus, and/or equity grants.
