What you will do:

  • Serve as the owner of 10up’s UX, content and research services. Establish and maintain best practices, and ensure that process, methodologies, and tooling are constantly refined to best meet the needs of our clients.
  • Oversee (and be accountable for) our output and quality of delivery on client engagements at every stage of the project lifecycle. Ensure that all products we create produce true end-user value.
  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance for UX, Content & UXR practitioners on projects, and support execution as necessary.
  • Establish, operationalize, and own internal initiatives to better define, position, and socialize UX, Content & Research as a capability at 10up (both internally and externally).
  • Work with leaders within the discipline to grow and evolve practices and processes related to Content Strategy and Content Design, including content modeling & information architecture, content analysis & disposition planning, content governance and content production processes.
  • Stay current on industry trends and ensure our UX and research services are modern, innovative, and ahead of the curve relative to our competitors.
  • Work with Delivery leads to maintain appropriate staffing levels and utilization.
  • Support the allocation of UX/Content and UXR resources to different engagements and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Product and Design leadership to foster synergy and collaboration across the broader strategy practice.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for UX, Content & Research practitioners and support the resolution of project or team issues.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a growing team of high-performing UX, Content & Research practitioners. Work with our Resourcing Manager to most effectively allocate the team’s time.
  • Represent 10up’s UX, Content & Research practice externally at conferences, events, and speaking engagements.
  • Support our Sales and Marketing teams in pitching and positioning our UX, Content & Research services to prospective clients (and the world!).

About you:

  • You bring 10+ years of experience in UX design and research for digital products, preferably in an agency setting.
  • You have 3+ years of management experience, with a proven track record of leading UX & Research teams.
  • You have deep expertise in User Experience Design and User Research methodologies and best practices.
  • You demonstrate a strong understanding of design principles for creating intuitive and user-friendly digital experiences, and demonstrated experience in doing so for mobile apps and websites.
  • Your experience gives you a strategic understanding of large scale content-heavy digital experiences and the role of content strategy in ensuring success of such projects
  • You have excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence executive-level stakeholders and manage client relationships.
  • You are passionate about user-centered design and have a strong desire to create exceptional user experiences.
  • You are proficient in a broad variety of UX research tools and design software (including Figma).
  • You have experience working with and leading others as part of a distributed (remote) team
