Job Summary

The Accounts Receivable Specialist position supports the Kesef client base by overseeing all areas relating to Account Receivables of assigned clients as well as being responsible for monthly open balance statements and billing transactions. 

At Kesef, we rely on a meticulous financial system to drive business forward. Our accounts receivable department keeps that system running smoothly by managing cash influx and collecting payment from clients. We’re searching for a skilled financial specialist to join our accounts receivable team to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The accounts receivable specialist will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners.

Responsibilities

For specifically assigned accounts and/or groups of accounts, undertake the complete accounts receivable cycle, including:  

  • Process and oversee inwards funds received by various means (including checks, cash, credit card, ach direct, stock donations, etc.), and allocate on an accurate and timely basis.
  • Providing customer service to synagogue staff and congregant requests.
  • The preparation and delivery of monthly and annual statements, as required.
  • Sync daily data from accounts receivable software to QuickBooks file.
  • Setting up one-time payments and recurring on-line payment plans.
  • Process and oversee posting of daily and annual billing.
  • Providing ad-hoc and scheduled reports as needed.
  • Research bank reconciliation discrepancies.
  • Processing refunds as needed.
  • Sending daily deposit reports.
  • Maintaining charge types.
  • Maintaining Client files. 

Teamwork

  1. Interface with Account Managers and other Kesef departments as needed.
  2. Oversee data entry staff, provide guidance and instruction.
  3. Undertake other tasks and/or projects, as required to support the wider Kesef Team.  

Requirements 

  • Associate degree or 2 to 3 years of work experience in an office environment.  
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment – computer, printer, fax, calculator.  
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.  
  • Positive attitude towards learning new skills and systems. 
  • Understanding of basic bookkeeping principles. 
  • Ability to keep company and partner confidences.  
  • Superb time management and detail orientation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize.  

Preferred, but not required  

  • Experience with Shulcloud software application  
  • Accounting, Banking & or Bookkeeping experience 
  • Experience in accounts receivable (or accounts payable) 
  • Synagogue knowledge and experience

Salary Range Disclosure

The base range represents the low and high end of the Togetherwork salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Togetherwork’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include discretionary bonuses, long term incentives, a flexible paid vacation/personal time policy, 6 weeks paid parental leave and more.

Salary Range

US Remote: $45,000- $ 55,000 USD per year
