Shop Program Manager San Francisco, CA (HQ)

GitHub is growing and looking for an experienced Program Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of our shop channels. As Shop Program Manager, you'll work with our Design team to help introduce compelling, branded merchandise and with our vendors to ensure global distribution.

This role is an integral part of a team of innovative professionals shaping our culture and brand through the creation of amazing swag. The ideal candidate is passionate about establishing best business practices and data-driven metrics to manage resources and processes. They have a track record of driving strategic change through thought-leadership. Strong communication and collaboration are central to GitHub’s working environment and culture, so we need someone who can clearly articulate their ideas and integrate feedback well.

This role will report to our Director of Global Workplace Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple Shop channels (GitHub Shop, Employee Swag Shop, etc.).
  • Creative operational efficiencies by transitioning manual operations to automated processes.
  • Develop standard practices for ordering.
  • Develop metrics, monitorings, and reporting around Shop performance.
  • Oversee global inventory, including but not limited to: localized production, storage facilities, and physical inventory at our offices.
  • Implement and manage relationships with end-to-end vendor.
  • Partner with the Design team to strategically create and introduce new, expanded, and seasonal Shop product lines.
  • Partner with internal teams (HR, EDU, Events, Sales, etc) to create swag that delights employees.
  • Implement company and departmental budget tracking.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with Design teams to create branded merchandise
  • Experience with Google Sheets or Excel for inventory tracking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills .
  • Experience with project management across multiple teams.
  • Experience working directly with vendors.
  • A general understanding of ecommerce analytics required; experience with online e-commerce solutions (e.g., Shopify) a plus.
  • Experience with merch design and printing a plus.
