About the role

We’re searching for a Senior Talent Operations Specialist to join the Talent Operations team in EMEA! Shopify is now permanently remote and working towards a future that is digital by design.

Our Talent Operations team is uniquely positioned to understand all of Talent as a system.  We partner with speciality, frontline, and other operational Talent teams to ensure the services Talent provides to Shopifolk have the processes and support in place to operate as smoothly and efficiently as possible. By solving problems with common sense and flexibility, we identify interdependencies and opportunities for creative, scalable solutions. Our portfolio varies by scope, audience, topic, and physical regions, which means that our team has to move quickly, prioritize, and adjust the lens we take every day. Most importantly, we need to stay deeply connected to all ongoing work that impacts the Talent team.

In this role you’ll be:

  • Bridging the gap between program design and program delivery by supporting the implementation and execution of Talent’s priority projects and ongoing operations.

  • Helping set up our employment infrastructure across EMEA (and APAC) by identifying country-specific requirements and working with the Talent and Legal and Finance teams to embed them in existing programs/processes, or create new ones.

  • Collaborating with other teams in Talent Operations to monitor our service and process health across Talent and solve for root cause of problems, such as inconsistent practices, inefficiencies, underutilized tech, or lack of knowledge or training

  • Collaborating with teams across Talent to role model great knowledge management practices while creating, documenting, and improving internal processes to support product and program launches.

  • Collaborating with embedded operations teams within Talent to identify and implement training for knowledge gaps, data integrity, and UX.

Qualifications

  • You have HR experience in a generalist or operational capacity, supporting multiple countries within EMEA.

  • You have an understanding of HR processes, lifecycles and programs.

  • You demonstrate the ability to thrive in an environment where priorities are constantly changing.

  • You're not shy to take initiative and run with a problem - in this role, you’ll be forging new territory and figuring things out for the first time. There’s no playbook here, but you can help us create one!

  • You want to understand the whole picture and can link context and many different moving pieces together, but are able to zoom in and think about all of the details of execution and delivery to create operational best practices.

  • You are able to get things done - understand the problem, pull in the right people at the right time to make decisions, come up with creative solutions and take steps to implement them.

  • You have the ability to prioritize quickly and move to action based on competing priorities and technical issues.

  • Demonstrate stakeholder management experience built on trusting relationships.

  • You have experience streamlining processes in a scalable way - preferably through automation.

It’s great if you also have: 

  • Knowledge of GetGuru (or other Knowledge Management solutions) and Excel/Google Sheets (vlookups, INDEX MATCH, pivot tables) Worked in a growing tech/software company environment.

  • Knowledge of HR within APAC
