As a Senior Product Marketing Manager, Storefronts, you will build and tell the story of what makes Shopify the top choice for merchants and ecosystem partners looking to build a headless commerce architecture, and help to ensure Shopify’s share of voice in this space. You will work with our worldwide developer ecosystem building innovative solutions on the Shopify platform, to drive messaging, awareness, engagement, and adoption of new product capabilities and API offerings for developers and partners, fueling the growth of our developer ecosystem and a positive impact on merchants’ businesses. You will also support product strategy by bringing the developer perspective, both establishing and expanding Shopify’s presence and reach in the developer community.

Your insight into the world of commerce developers and marketing, along with your deep empathy for our merchants, will help you tell the most compelling story about how Shopify’s Custom Storefronts can help merchants and partners succeed.

The Impact You Will Have:

  • Work collaboratively with product, UX and marketing teams to understand and communicate our product strategy

  • Conduct research into industries, customer insights, and product features to develop messaging and positioning for new and existing products

  • Work with marketing channel owners to bring your plans to life across different marketing channels and deliver campaign results

  • Direct marketing UX and channel teams as they deliver the go-to-market plan, and you’ll own the narrative in terms of both visual design and language

  • Architect short and long term go-to-market moments, connecting key narratives to product milestones

  • Determine the success metrics and work with data science to measure the impact of your programs


  • You excel in the product marketing craft: marketing insights, positioning, messaging, and go-to-market

  • Experience in developer product marketing, developer marketing, developer advocacy, technical evangelism, technical sales, or product management

  • Demonstrated technical breadth and understanding of developer tools, application development, API usage, and/or web development. Previous hands-on experience on a developer/technical role preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to transform developer needs and product capabilities into easy-to-understand messages and value propositions. Public speaking is a plus.

  • You can synthesize complex technical product narratives, into compelling stories for multiple audiences, and you understand how those stories might come to life on different marketing channels (social, blogs, webinars, etc.)

  • Ability to thrive in chaos and make decisions quickly 

  • You love working cross-functionally across different teams, building and maintaining relationships across the organization to drive results

  • You have 4+ years of experience in product marketing, marketing, or product management in technology companies

It would be a bonus if you have:

  • Previous experience marketing eCommerce platforms or front-end developer frameworks and hosting solutions 

  • Previous experience working with a merchant brand/developer ecosystem

  • Walked in the shoes of a merchant as an entrepreneur yourself
