As an Engineering Manager, you will work closely with a distributed, diverse, and passionate team of engineers, designers, product managers, and user researchers to enhance the project management services that millions of developers depend on every day.

In this role, you will be responsible for guiding the team in our mission to build reliable, maintainable, and approachable services that power GitHub’s project management and developer productivity tooling. You will lead a team of software engineers to design, prototype, implement, ship and support highly performant and inspiring user experiences.

Planning & Tracking is a fully distributed team reliant on asynchronous communication. We expect you to have the ability to communicate complex technical concepts, and be able to create working relationships with coworkers in locations around the globe.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience managing engineering teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, planning, and organization
  • Worked previously with a distributed team
  • Experience with developing a strategy and roadmap for your teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building highly available and scalable distributed systems
  • Developed or managed teams that focus on tooling for team collaboration
