About the role

We are looking for a visionary sales leader who can help define and optimize our go-to-market strategy for our fast growing new-business sales team where you’ll be responsible for selling Shopify’s entire suite of enterprise solutions (Plus, Money, Retail, etc.). As a Sales Lead, you’ll build and lead an outstanding team of high-performing Account Executives, where you’ll be responsible for talent management, coaching, managing the pipeline, and playing a strategic role in designing the function as it continues to grow and mature.


You’ll need to have:

  • Ability to successfully motivate teams, set clear goals and create an inspiring environment that is open and transparent

  • Ability to leverage data to inform coaching, feedback and development conversations, as well as to measure, manage, and optimize efforts and allocation of resources

  • Customer-first mindset and customer empathy — curious and willing to learn new things

  • Track record of excellence and innovation in crafting original outbound strategies that drive impactful results for the business

  • Highly motivated, with the drive to work independently, plan and accomplish goals, as well as a successful track record of exceeding quota both as an individual contributor and manager

  • Experience collaborating with cross functional teams (e.g. marketing, customer success, revenue operations, etc) to create a continuous improvement feedback loop of learning and iteration

  • An entrepreneurial mindset that allows you to thrive in a rapidly growing and changing organization

  • An understanding of how to build teams and culture considering recruitment, people development and coaching

  • Experience with regular call coaching as well as team metrics and results - managing for performance

  • A growth mindset and a strong desire to continuously improve your skill set and your teams

Proficiency in Salesforce and Google Workspace is a plus, with the ability to report on KPIs, including individual and team results.

You’ll be working on things like:

  • Coaching a team of Account Executives to achieve their personal and professional development goals in pursuit of world-class sales excellence

  • Supporting your team in generating new outbound pipeline as well as closing deals through qualifying inbound opportunities from marketing, sales or other efforts

  • Establish and enforce best practices in areas of lead qualification, pitch discovery questions, consultative selling, pipeline management, and sales funnel reporting

  • Designing processes, tactics, playbooks, and policies that deliver long-term repeatable success and challenges the status quo when things aren’t working

  • Collaborating with teams across Shopify to build infrastructure for a growing team and customer base

  • Providing input and direction on marketing and product priorities

  • Collaborating on sales hiring, training, and development, along with building, documenting, and updating all training materials and internal SOP’s

  • Conduct weekly 1:1 meetings with Sales Executives to provide hands-on coaching and development. Lead weekly team meetings, rituals, and training sessions
