Vox is looking for Editors with a mastery of Premiere and After Effects for the second season of our Netflix docuseries “Explained.” The episodes will be on a broad range of social, political and cultural topics, with a mix of field, archival and motion design, crafted into beautifully designed, deeply-researched stories. The Editors will be editing the series’ 15-minute episodes, working alongside the Producers and a dedicated Motion Design team. The Editors will be key members of the creative staff, and candidates should be imaginative and resourceful — with a keen storytelling sense, a passion for current affairs, and experience in fast-paced work environments.
The job is full-time and in-house for three to four months, based in New York City.
What you'll do:
- Edit 15-minute episodes of current affairs show
- Motion design maps, charts and other elements
What you'll bring:
- Mastery of Premiere and After Effects
- Experience in short or medium-length documentary work
- A sharp design sense
- A skilled storyteller
- An interest in Vox’s style of explanatory video journalism
- Illustrator and Photoshop a plus
- Color correction skills a plus
Candidates should include two or three work samples, and at least one should showcase their After Effects skills.
