Twilio is looking for an experienced internal communications manager for the North America Sales team. They will own all internal communications as well as help coordinate all high priority events through the year. This role isn’t just about creating and managing content; we’re looking for someone to be a strong thought partner to our leaders. This means asking tough questions, and advising our leaders to ensure Twilio North America Sales employees understand and support new programs and policies. The internal communications manager role reports into the Chief of Staff of North America Sales.

About the job

THE WHO

The ideal candidate will be someone who:

  • Has 5+ years of total work experience, 2+ of which must be internal communications focused. 
  • Has strong written, communication and organization skills. 
  • Work in a disciplined and rigorous manner by exhibiting “big picture” thinking and attention to detail.
  • Can develop critical communications plans and demonstrate successful outcomes from these plans
  • Enjoys working in a technical, hyper-growth environment and an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. Can ruthlessly prioritize work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. 
  • Is comfortable with open communication and giving and receiving open, constructive feedback.

  • Must be knowledgeable about a range of internal communications platforms and tools, such as Zoom, Slido, Slack; Keynote and Google Suite a plus.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop a robust internal communications strategy and approach for North America Sales Organization to address top-down and bottom-up communication challenges surfaced via roundtables and EES surveys
  • Plan, author, provide content, edit and deploy communications for a variety of internal and external communications channels such as newsletter, internal emails, any comms/ presentations/ social media/ blog posts required for our Head of North America Sales
  • Run point on supporting North America Sales leadership in planning & facilitating online and in-person sales events to bring the North America Sales team together (eg: Sales Club, Sales Kick-off, Sales All-Hands, Company All-Hands) in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders 
  • Work with North America Sales leaders to ensure they optimally communicate with their teams – including developing their “voice,” the channels they use, and cadence.
  • Analyze data and develop programs to act on critical feedback and drive change.
  • Own Sales All Hands meetings, AMAs and Roundtables: Manage end to end, from agenda creation and selecting speakers, to developing and managing logistics, to promotion. 
  • Draft and disseminate timely communications around important updates (e.g. product launches, key company initiatives, organizational changes, etc.).
  • Partner with North America HRBPs and leaders to determine ongoing communications needs and develop strategies and plans to address those.
  • Represent North America Sales on the Twilio internal communications team, creating opportunities for greater visibility of the North America team and partnering on the overall company content calendar. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Twilio’s employee experience, DEI, Real Estate & Workplace, and other teams on various programs to engage employees across the company.

Colorado applicants: 

  • The estimated pay range for this role, based in Colorado, is $109,280 - $136,600
  • Non-Sales: Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state. This role is also eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
