Twilio is growing rapidly and seeking a talented Engineering Manager to join the Twilio Studio frontend engineering team that design and deploy scalable customer communications. You would manage and grow this engineering team to help build powerful frontend to create widgets, configure flows at scale along with services/APIs using best software engineering practices. You are probably a good fit if you enable and empower your  team, be deeply passionate about developing engineers, comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy building relations..

Who?

Twilio is looking for a leader who lives the Twilio Magic and has a demonstrated track record of leading engineering teams. They also will:

  • Experience in mentoring, coaching and developing software engineers
  • Enthusiasm for software engineering with focus on front-end engineering
  • Experience with cloud based native development preferably AWS
  • Experience in managing teams preferably with React, Redux, Express.js and familiarity with Java, RESTful APIs, CI/CD and Microservices
  • A history of working with highly scalable distributed systems with a focus on operational excellence
  • Ability to intelligently prioritize a technical roadmap with a focus on delivering incremental customer value
  • Experience in agile processes and best practices
  • Strong communication skills: in person, on paper, or in code. You can explain technical concepts to product managers, other engineers, and support members.
  • Be a strategic thinker and thrive when operating in broad scope, from conception through continuous operation of 24x7 services
  • Distill complex and ambiguous situations into actionable plans for your team
  • 5+ years relevant technical work experience, or a degree supplemented with relevant experience in the field.

This is a remote position that can be located anywhere (tier 3+) within the United States. $146,240 - $201,080

Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.
