About the Role

We’re looking for an energetic, creative, and skilled communicator to enable our fully-remote team to stay in touch, connected, and engaged. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating personal connections and building company culture, with a sparkle and flair for building and strengthening our people-first approach.

Reporting directly to the COO, the Employee Experience Manager (EEM) works closely with Citrine’s Executive and People Operations teams to create and implement experiences that inspire connection among our colleagues while providing opportunities for their personal and professional growth. At Citrine, we put our employee experience front and center, and the EEM is a key part of this effort, responsible for developing and launching programs that support retention and keep our team members engaged, even when remote.

Operating with considerable autonomy, the ideal candidate will be an organized, self-motivated go-getter with high energy who can roll with ambiguity and step up to learn and try new things as the company evolves. This role is ideal for a people-person who loves to get things done in a fast-moving global start-up, helping keep Citrine a great place to work.

    • Partner with leadership and colleagues to make Citrine the best workplace in tech, by developing and carrying out programs that drive employee engagement and retention 
    • Design a compelling community-building strategy that connects our remote team, using tactics like fun, compelling, and engaging employee celebrations, meetings, and team-building events in collaboration with key internal and external partners
    • Work cooperatively across teams to constantly improve the Citrine employee experience, including contributions to employer branding, onboarding/offboarding, learning and development, team building, and our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives
    • Guide, evolve, mentor, and evangelize employee engagement expertise across the company
    • Own and analyze employee feedback, survey data, and metrics to enhance and evolve events, track experiences, and engagement, iterate, and renew
    • Focus on continuous improvement of internal communication and visibility at all levels across the organization
    • Manage physical offices, shared workspaces, satellite offices, and all “onsite” meetings
    • Provide ad-hoc Executive team support and collaboration on special projects, looking for opportunities to help us improve our operations and work together more effectively

Skills and Experience

    • 5+ years of experience in Employee Experience, Event Management, Office Management, Executive Assistant, Hospitality, or related fields
    • A skilled communicator and community-builder with a friendly and upbeat personality and a customer-first mindset
    • Strategic thinker who thrives in an ambiguous environment with considerable autonomy
    • Trusted partner and relationship-builder who communicates openly, welcomes feedback and champions understanding and connection
    • Proactive, agile, resourceful, and reliable with strong organizational skills and a data-driven, and execution focus
    • Excited and inspired by new ideas and technology, and eager to incorporate new things and find clever solutions
    • Proficient with MS Office, G-suite, Zoom, and other office management systems


    • Previous experience in a high-tech start-up environment
    • Experience in supporting remote teams
    • Experience managing an office

Compensation and Pay Transparency 

At Citrine, we want your path to career growth to be transparent, straightforward, fair, and easily accessible -- starting with your application and interview process. The annual salary range listed below reflects the level we are considering for this position (please note that there may be unique situations where you may fall outside of this range). Where you fall within the range will depend on how your experience and skills align to our internal leveling system as we learn more about you throughout the interview process. 

$100,000 USD - $130,000 USD

*Range(s) listed are for full-time employees based in the United States only.
