Hippo Education is on a mission to empower the people of medicine to learn, grow, and thrive by creating education and community. Our hard working and quick-to-laugh crew creates exceptional medical education products through our platform that hosts podcasts, video courses, and more to keep clinicians up-to-date and at their best. We have a team of over 30 with some working at the main studio in Los Angeles while most of us work remotely all across the US. As the company’s first Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for bringing leadership and experience to our current small, but exceptional marketing team. In your role, you will spearhead the collaborative effort of defining and executing on Hippo’s strategy across all facets of marketing, including branding, acquisition, retention, market research and more. Collaboration, discipline, and a passion for what you do will be key to your success in this role.
Set marketing strategy at the company and individual product levels, craft marketing plans around those strategies, and then execute on those plans
Manage the marketing team, budget, and resources to maximize marketing’s impact at Hippo
Conduct market research to understand better than anyone else in the company who our customers are, what they need / want, and how to communicate with them
Craft clear, consistent and resonant positioning and messaging for the company and each of our products
Develop creative and effective marketing initiatives to drive awareness, acquisition, activation, retention and reactivation
Obsessively measure and optimize the performance of our marketing
BA/BS degree, MBA a plus
5+ years of experience in a marketing leadership role
Mastery of both digital and traditional marketing channels, including online display advertising, mobile advertising, print advertising, SEM, SEO, and social media
Thorough understanding of key marketing best practices, processes and tools
Data-driven and adept at working with numbers
Extensive experience managing budgets
Exceptional organizational and project management skills
Ability to dive into new, unfamiliar environments and learn quickly
A massive sense of humor, optimism, and an ability to roll with lots of changes
Full time remote position
