About the job

This position is needed to navigate and resolve disputes and risk.

You will lead and manage a team focused on resolving litigation and pre-litigation matters, conducting investigations, and supporting the business in assessing and mitigating risk.


In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead and manage the litigation team.
  • Have responsibility over managing disputes and responses to third party subpoenas.
  • Provide entrepreneurial, timely, pragmatic, business-oriented advice and properly balance legal risks with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the product teams and other internal business stakeholders to develop creative strategies to mitigate risk and resolve claims.
  • Partner with outside counsel on matters and closely manage their budget.
  • Conduct and advise on internal investigations.
  • Proactively address risk through training and partnership with leadership across the company.

  • J.D. with strong academic credentials and demonstrated record of success as a lawyer; licensed to practice, or eligible to be registered in-house counsel.
  • 10+ years litigation experience at a top firm and/or inhouse.
  • Extensive experience with complex litigation, particularly in areas impacting high technology companies, such as commercial and privacy litigation.
  • Demonstrated record of success developing and implementing strategies to drive complex disputes to successful resolution.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.


  • Prior in-house experience is strongly preferred.
  • Management experience.
  • Internal investigation experience.
  • Trial experience.


This role will be based in the USA.

Approximately 5% travel is anticipated.

  • The estimated pay range for this role, based in Colorado, is $182,580.00 - $225,000.00.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state. This role is also eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
