Twilio is looking for a talented and experienced senior engineering leader. You would manage and grow an engineering and operations organization at the heart of Twilio’s Billing Platform. As the Engineering leader of our Billing and Pricing Platforms organization, you will own the scaling and development of a micro-transactional billing and pricing platform supporting a rapidly growing $1B+ annualized run rate business.  Reporting to the VP, Engineering, with regular interactions with the CFO and GTM organizations, this senior leadership role is focused on enhancing engineering practices and scaling systems as the company continues to rapidly grow.

  • You have a track record of leading distributed systems engineering and operations teams in software companies.
  • You have extensive expertise in building and running Billing, Pricing and/or Payments systems.  Experience with micro-transactional billing systems is highly desired.
  • You have experience managing 50+ people in multiple geos.  Strong focus on org structure and shape hygiene.
  • You are passionate about engineering hygiene and operational excellence.  You have the know-how to build an engineering organization that delivers it.  You focus on quality through metrics-based defect tracking and pride in delivery.
  • You have expertise with agile methodologies, continuous integration, and test automation.
  • You are a strategic thinker as it relates to scale and removing humans from the loop.  You thrive when operating in broad scope, from conception through continuous operation of 24x7 services to defined SLA’s.
  • An understanding of Accounting policies, Tax, and Invoicing requirements.
  • You distill complex and ambiguous situations into aligned priorities with actionable plans for your team.  Focus on the customer and business outcomes.
  • Experience managing large scale integrations with third party ERPs and CRMs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to be personable yet persistent.  You are able to articulate the “why” for a team’s priorities and the customer impact.
  • Proven track record of meeting business targets.

  • BE AN OWNER: Lead, build and manage an organization and teams to deliver a highly accurate and flexible micro-transaction Event Processing Engine that supports use cases from subscription and invoiced customers to Pay-as-you-go with fully automated reconciliation at month end, quarter end and year end boundaries.
